Ohio's OZ 2.0 map is final. 260 tracts are designated, effective January 1, 2027, replacing the 320 current zones, which remain in effect through December 31, 2028.
This map opens on the official 2027 designated Ohio Opportunity Zones (deep blue), effective January 1, 2027, from the list Treasury published November 5, 2026. Use the Layers panel to see the original 2018 zones (gold, in effect through December 31, 2028), both maps together, or the non-final eligible pool. On the 2027 view, the rural toggle shows only tracts marked Rural on the official list. See every designated Ohio tract on the 2027 list.
Ohio has 320 designated Qualified Opportunity Zones across all 88 counties, with the largest concentrations in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland), Franklin County (Columbus), Hamilton County (Cincinnati), and Summit County (Akron). Ohio's OZ program covers the full breadth of the state's economic landscape, from the urban cores of its major cities to legacy manufacturing towns and agricultural communities across rural Ohio.
Columbus's OZs have attracted the most active investment environment in the state, driven by the city's remarkable population and economic growth, Ohio State University's anchor presence, and significant private sector expansion in technology, logistics, and healthcare. Cleveland's zones offer urban redevelopment opportunities in one of the nation's more challenging but increasingly promising post-industrial markets, with anchor investments from the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western anchoring surrounding neighborhood activity. Cincinnati's zones span the urban core, the Mill Creek industrial corridor, and cross-river activity into northern Kentucky. Akron's zones present post-rubber industry redevelopment opportunities in a city experiencing a notable arts and innovation-driven resurgence.
All OZ 1.0 designations remain in effect through December 31, 2028. Ohio's Intel semiconductor mega-campus investment and growing logistics economy are creating new demand drivers for OZ-eligible properties across central Ohio.
