    About Wisconsin Opportunity Zones

Wisconsin has 120 designated Qualified Opportunity Zones across 52 counties, with the largest concentrations in Milwaukee County, Dane County (Madison), and Brown County (Green Bay). Wisconsin's OZ program spans its urban industrial core, growing mid-sized cities, and rural agricultural and timber communities across the state.

Milwaukee's OZs cover large portions of the city's north and south sides, historically disinvested neighborhoods that have begun to attract investor interest driven by low land costs, anchor institutions like Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and the city's improving quality of life indicators. Madison's zones offer urban infill housing and commercial opportunities adjacent to the University of Wisconsin and the state's growing technology sector. Green Bay and Fox Valley zones present workforce housing and light industrial investment opportunities in a region with strong manufacturing and food processing employment.

All OZ 1.0 designations remain in effect through December 31, 2028. Wisconsin's manufacturing heritage, agricultural economy, and improving urban investment climate provide a stable foundation for OZ capital deployment.
